A day trip to Ayutthaya

Located in the valley of the Chao Phraya River and is 85km north of Bangkok. I have visited Thailand for many times but last year was the first time I went to this ancient capital of Siam.

We arranged a taxi to pick up at hotel in the morning and go for a day to Ayutthaya. It took us one and a half hour to get there. We visited most of all spectacular ruins and intact temples in the Unesco World Heritage site of Ayutthaya. First we visited Wat Mongkhon Bophit where they have a big buddha inside the temple and the line of bronze bells in the back yard. Then we head off to see the large bronze statue of the Reclining Buddha. Followed by Wat Mahathat and Buddha’s head entwined in tree roots.

I was so impressed with all these temples which was built over 400 years ago and the high respect for belief of buddha in this country. Walking around under the tropical heat in Thailand was not easy, especially travelling with kids so we didn’t have any close-up look to all the temples but I did have great time there and I was really happy that I did it.

Siem Reap – Sacred land

Siem Reap is well known as a land of ancient temples with the mystical and spiritual nature. And a trip to Siem Reap was totally satisfying my curiosity. I definitely go back there in the future.
